I started my career as an elementary school teacher, but fell in love with Silicon Valley, coding, and the startup culture. I launched Hackingtons Code School for Kids in 2014. As a parent, I want to see my own kids focusing on academic skills, building friendships, and developing a strong sense of self-esteem. I hate when I see my own kids doing passive activities, such as watching YouTube or playing video games. As a coding instructor, I have found that playing vs building video games are two completely different skill sets. I happen to believe that building video games is a far more beneficial skill to learn. I believe your child will love Scratch. And I believe you, as a parent, will love knowing that your child is now better prepared for a career in technology. I can't wait to see what your child will build!
