SSG Matthew Page (Ret) is a distinguished military veteran with a dynamic career marked by his roles as a combative instructor, squad leader, and team leader. A veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Matthew's service earned him numerous commendations, including three Army Commendation Medals and four Army Achievement Medals. He is a graduate of prestigious military courses such as the Advanced Leadership Course, Warrior Leadership Course, Airborne, and Air Assault School. While serving as a modern army combative instructor at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, he trained thousands of soldiers, airmen, and marines in hand-to-hand combat. He holds a Marine Corps Martial Arts Black Belt, a BJJ Brown Belt, and has extensive experience in No-Gi and wrestling, both as a competitor and coach. He has mentored amateur and professional mixed martial arts fighters and is the founder of a Jiu Jitsu team affiliated with Torres Jiu Jitsu in Houston, Texas. Beyond his military and martial arts achievements, Matthew is an Amazon best-selling author with his graphic novel "Fleeing Darkness." He is academically accomplished, holding a Master of Theological Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and an Executive Certificate in Christian Leadership from Liberty University. Matthew is married to his high school sweetheart, with whom he shares two daughters. His passion for comic books, both collecting and writing, is a significant part of his life.
