Matthew Robinson is Professor of Justice Studies at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. He is the author of 21 books on topics of crime, criminal justice, crime prevention, corporate crime, criminological theory, capital punishment, the drug war, the media, and social justice. He also writes short stories, poetry, and music including hip hop rhymes, all part of "The Curious"--a writing club that meets every week in Boone. An avid hiker, you can find Matthew on a trail at least once a week--climbing a mountain or crossing a river. His writing has shifted from scholarly writing to fictional writing, and he enjoys expressing himself through poetry and songs. He is the author of 15 chapbooks.
