I am a pediatric speech-language pathologist. Over the past 38 years, I have worked in home-based infant programs, special education centers, clinical settings as well as public and private schools with children with a variety of disabilities and handicapping conditions. Presently, I run a private practice in Rockville and Harwood, Maryland, providing speech-language services to children from birth to age 18. I have worked extensively with children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Motor Speech Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder and Communication Disorder. I have written two books for children with ASD and oral sensory-motor disorder. Strategies for Successful Mealtimes, which was just published this spring, 2016, details how to implement a feeding program with children who have a limited diet and resist new foods. Improving Speech and Eating Skills in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder was published in June, 2008 and assists with understanding terminology, how to treat oral sensory-motor disorder and implement an oral sensory diet to assist with speech, eating skills and communication skills.
