Maya Mourshed

Maya fell in love with chemistry when she was eight years old. She began by studying the periodic table of elements and quickly learned the properties and attributes of each element. At the same time, she became passionate about creative writing, which sparked her idea of bringing the chemical elements to life through stories and poems. Multiple nation-wide writing contests have awarded her work, including those conducted by the American Chemical Society, Society of Young Inklings, Stone Soup, and WETA-PBS. By combining chemistry knowledge with fun characters, Maya aspires to support young readers to understand and appreciate the magic of science. She is currently working on another short story and poem anthology -- this time about math.
