MEDARIA “RONDO” ARRADONDO, a son of Minneapolis, was appointed the city’s first Black Chief of Police in 2017. He has gained international recognition for his role in leading through the George Floyd crisis, securing justice, and implementing police reforms while enhancing transparency. Rondo retired in 2022 after thirty-two years of service in the Minneapolis Police Department. Today he is President and CEO of Optimus Sui Consulting, LLC. Rondo works with global leaders in government and law enforcement to advance procedural justice and advises corporate clients on crisis management and leadership. He remains active in Minneapolis as a Commissioner of Public Housing and Executive Board Member of Fentanyl Free Communities.
