I have been writing stories since I was eight years old. I won an elementary school writing competition for a story about a Horse and a Rabbit. After that I thought I could make it. Dreaming of writing a story that would one day reach the hearts of millions. I wanted to be one of the great fantasy writers like J.K. Rowling, or Christopher Paolini. I wanted to see my stories out there. Ironic since coming back to writing I have started writing in a completely different genre. Years of writing produced nothing worth people’s money. Rejection letter after rejection letter. The heart-break of rejection and learning that my alpha reader at the time was not even looking at my work caused me to give up writing for a few years. Dropping dead weight from my life allowed me to find my inspiration again. New life situation and a new hope for the future has given me back my love for story telling. Living in the haunted Nevada desert has inspired this collection of short stories. Growing up in the Mojave of southern California to settle in the Great Basin of northern Nevada, has given me a unique perspective on desert life and the amazing collection of life that surrounds me. This inspired my first short story collection focusing on more obscure desert history and features. You can read about these desert themed horror stories in Shadows of the Great Basin.
