Melinda Hoffman works as an artist. That work includes painting, drawing, children's book writing, and installations. Her interests include water, wind and sun, human migration, cultural dynamics, the shortcomings of humans, the future of our world and the opportunity to emphasize love in America. In recent years, she produce a children's book program placing books into the only operating library in Afghanistan. With the financial help of a local Girls Scout troop, 80 carefully selected and visually excellant books were placed, some with translations into Dari and Pashto, in the Kabul library. Access to non-religious books is a very rare opportunity for young people in that country and sadly, these books for security reasons are stored behind locked doors in "limited access" areas of the library. You might enjoy another of Melinda's watercolor books about love, friendship and acceptance, "What's a Friend For?"
