She enjoys hopping over the nearby border into Wales, so she can climb the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia and hunt for Welsh dragons. She has a passion for writing in rhyme for little ones, and she loves illustrating her own stories. Most of this takes place while lying on her side using an iPad, due to a stubborn old neck fusion that hates desks. Her many picture books, for ages 3-6, are also attributed to a team of cuddly toy co-writers, called the “Top of the Wardrobe Gang”. Please don’t tell young fans, but these cuddly toys do not in fact live with a boy called Billy. They live on Melinda’s sofa, and can be very badly behaved. Some of them did live on the top of her wardrobe, but they came down years ago and have refused to return. When Melinda isn’t writing, illustrating, or climbing mountains, she loves visiting different places around the world with her husband, and spending time with her family.
