A contract computer programmer for Ford Motor Company for nearly 23 years, Melissa Jenkins has dreamed of becoming a professional writer since childhood. She desires to use her voracious reading experience, plus her lifetime technical knowledge, love of science, and passion for public health to write informative non-fiction and entertaining fiction to enhance the lives of others. Melissa is also a member of Mensa and has served as the Mensa Gifted Youth Coordinator for Southeast Michigan Mensa since 2012. She has conducted countless STEAM talks and workshops for gifted youth. She has also written a monthly column for her local Mensa newsletter for the past 12 years. Several Mensa chapters nationwide have requested reprints of her articles. Melissa received the American Mensa Gifted Youth Coordinator award in 2023 for her unique contributions to the growth of programs and services for gifted youth. Melissa lives with her youngest son, now a teenager, in suburban Detroit, Michigan.
