Hello! I’m Melissa—a certified math and science teacher turned homeschooling mom on our little hobby farm in east Tennessee. With a background as a professional photographer, I bring a creative eye to designing the layouts and illustrations for my books and those of my children. Yes, even my children, ages 7 to 13, have authored and self-published their own books! Originally from New York, we still cherish all things snow and cozy, even though East Tennessee doesn’t often indulge us with winter weather. Regardless, we can be found sipping hot cocoa while brainstorming new ideas for books and illustrations. In our homeschool, self-publishing has become a fulfilling part of our curriculum, offering hands-on learning in language arts, math, art, and even public speaking. Watching my children grow in these areas while bringing their own stories and artwork to life is a joy beyond words. It’s truly humbling to imagine a child reading one of our stories to their siblings or a family snuggling up together with one of our creations.
