Melissa S. Kearney is the Neil Moskowitz Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland, Director of Aspen Economic Strategy Group, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. She has published numerous academic articles and policy reports on US economic and social issues. She grew up in New Jersey, where she attended Montville Township High School, and subsequently earned a BA in Economics from Princeton University and a PhD in Economics from MIT. She lives in Maryland with her husband and three children.
