About the Author Waterfall hunter, nature enthusiast, tree hugger,and avid hiker, Melissa Watson is truly at her best when she's in the forest. Her passion for waterfalls and nature in general stems back to childhood, and she continues to fulfill that passion to this day. For more than twenty-five years Melissa has been exploring the forests of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. Hiking by day and camping by night, she continues her quest for new trails, and new territory to explore. Whether searching out new waterfalls or revisiting old favorites, she has come to be known as a local expert in the field. Melissa has been a career firefighter and paramedic since 1993. She started adventure racing in 2000 and continues to master her skills as a navigator and mountaineer.
