Michael A. Hoey

Michael A. Hoey is the son of British actor Dennis Hoey, best remembered for his portrayal of Inspector Lestrade in the Sherlock Holmes films starring Basil Rathbone. Although born in England, Michael grew up in Beverly Hills and began his career in Hollywood in the editing department. He wrote two Elvis Presley films, Stay Away, Joe and Live a Little, Love a Little. He has been twice nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on the TV Series Fame and has received the Writers Guild's Morgan Cox Award, a Media Award, and an A.C.E. Eddie Award. He has served as Governor on the Board of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
