Michael A Smith

Mike is a Design Leader for Magna and a Senior Firefighter/EMT for the Wixom Fire Department outside of Detroit, Michigan. He is a 27-year veteran of the automotive industry managing and designing parts used around the world on the latest vehicles. Mike operates the extrication focused website Boron Extrication where he blends his automotive and fire service experience together to provide leading-edge content for rescue personnel. Mike is a Michigan Certified Fire Instructor 1 and taught extrication several times at FDIC, Firehouse Expo, BGSU Fire School and around the United States with an emphasis on current and emerging vehicle technologies.
