I began writing in my teenage years penning many short stories and attempting a few novels. It wasn't until after my 6 year stint in the Nuclear Navy that I began writing novels in earnest. I spent 10 years working in the civilian nuclear program as a nuclear chemist then, after getting laid off from TVA during the great paring in 1990, switched over to the Oracle database and computers full time. I actually owe my Oracle career to the Challenger disaster, it spawned the Advanced Solid Rocket Program in Iuka, Mississippi where I got hired as an Oracle DBA mostly because I was the only one that could spell Oracle that showed up for the interview. Since then I have published as author or co-author over 24 books on Oracle. It wasn't until 2007 or so that I re-kindled (no pun intended) my interest in writing fiction again, turning to some of my older manuscripts and re-writing/editing and publishing those using CreateSpoace. I have now published 4 novels, one with Black Rose Publishing, and one collection of short stories as well as publishing my father-in-laws autobiography. I cycle between my home in Johns Creek, Georgia and my mountain property in the rural Smokey Mountains. I am happily married, going on 41 years and have two excellent daughters and (at last count) 4 wonderful grandchildren. I work for IBM as an Oracle Guru for the flash storage group and get to travel all over the world as a talking head expert. If I could just get a best selling book my life would be perfect!
