MICHAEL LEE is a qualified futurist, writer, business leader and artist living in Cape Town. His published books on how to study the future are Knowing our Future and Codebreaking our Future. He has written two science fiction works, Chrysalis, a story about the world's first head transplant, and Earthrise 2036, a part-documentary, part-imaginary journey through the evolution of humanity from the rawest of origins in the Cradle of Humankind to the age of space exploration. He is chairperson of the Consortium for Next Gen ATMs which has over 275 companies participating in this future-proofing exercise to link over 3 million ATMs with more than 5 billion mobile phones. BRUCE MATHEW is a neurosurgeon who graduated with a medical degree from Groote Schuur Hospital & the University of Cape Town in 1979 and then continued his surgical training in Bristol and Cardiff, specialising in Neurosurgery, before completing his training in Belfast during the Irish “Troubles”. He was awarded a Master of Surgery degree by Bristol University in 1993 and then appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon in Hull in 1994. He has served on the Council of the Society of British Neurosurgeons, and examined for the Royal Surgical Colleges.
