Michael V. Konshak

关于作者

Michael (Mike) V. Konshak was born on an Air Force base and raised in a military family, surrounded by a mother and three sisters, while his father was serving in dangerous places. Michael enlisted in the Navy Reserves while still in his senior year of high school. After graduation, with six months as a reservist, he enlisted in the regular Navy and did another four years with two tours in Vietnam 1967-1969. Michael rode and raced motorcycles off and on since he was fourteen years old. His first long distance road trip was when he received order to deploy to Vietnam, and road his 1967 Norton P-11 Scrambler from Key West to Colorado Springs, to be stored there. He would retrieve it after Being discharged and raced it in SoCal. Now in his seventies he rides with his Aussie, Deacon Telerover. Deacon is nine years old at the time of this writing, and is the archetype of the book’s canine hero. Although names and places are based much on the author’s life experiences, the dog’s name remained the same, but the events that he is involved in are obviously fictional (or are they?). Deacon is the inspiration for writing the Adventures With Deacon Series and the reason to keep riding motorcycles. Michael has been married for over forty years to Rebecca who chases him out of the house every now and then to explore North America with Deacon. Michael is also a retired mechanical engineer and the curator of the International Slide Rule Museum. He is preserving the 50 to 100 year old slide rule manuals in the Slide Rule Instruction Library Series.
