I have always enjoyed searching for effective ways to teach seemingly complicated ideas in a simple manner. This included tutoring statistics when I was in college and being a statistical consultant at UCLA after that. The process of tutoring and consulting gave me immediate feedback about what worked, and what did not work. As I write, I am constantly thinking of the students, researchers, colleagues, or faculty members who will be reading what I write. My challenge is to provide readers the answers they seek in a form they can use best. My books include A Visual Guide to Stata Graphics, Data Management Using Stata, Visualizing and Interpreting Regression Models using Stata, and Stata for the Behavioral Sciences.
