Michelle N. Briggs

With a career spanning academics, government service, and industry, Michelle Briggs is an expert on Russian security issues. She is also a prolific author and frequent media commentator. She works with the Council on Geostrategy, and the Institute of International Relations where she serves as an Honorary Professor at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at University College London. She is a Senior Research Fellow at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and a Professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. She studied graphic design and has written over ten books, starting her career as an artist in 1983. She has illustrated Osprey books on a variety of topics, including the Aztecs, the Ancient Greeks, Roman combat tactics, 19th-century American themes, the Modern Chinese Army, and the History of Fortification. She specializes in meticulous historical reconstructions. Her art has been featured in periodicals and shows all around the globe.
