关于作者

I'm an American, East Coast big city girl with a South Louisiana soul that has somehow found myself living in Barbados teaching screenwriting and Film Studies at the University of the West Indies, while pursuing my filmmaking dreams. I conceived and wrote Eleggua, my first picture book, years ago when my twins were very young. But it wasn't until 2015 when I got to know a dynamic, Cuban artist living in Barbados, Leandro Soto, that I was able see through Leandro's art the types of images that I envisioned for the story. Our collaboration birthed a Caribbean book with a life lesson that also explores the culture of the African Diaspora in the Americas. In addition, Eleggua is filled with one-of-a-kind art that children as well as their caregivers will enjoy perusing over and over again.
