关于作者

Animal welfarist and a pioneer of the cat behaviorist specialty, Mieshelle Nagelschneider is an award-winning and acclaimed New York Times cat behavior science author. Her book, The Cat Whisperer, is published in 4 languages and is the first science-based and scholarly cited cat behavior book for cat owners. The book is hardcover and published by Random House Publishing Bantam Dell (and written with co-writer, Cameron Powell). Mieshelle studied animal behavior and Animal Welfare at Oxford University, Harvard University, and the University of Edinburgh Royal Veterinary School. Her formal studies, passion and curiosity about cats continues to put her at the forefront of cat behavior knowledge. Studying cat behavior for over three decades, has enabled her to offer cat owners what they haven't been able to find -- behavior advice that isn't antiquated, cookie cutter, or reinvents the wheel. Mieshelle is the host of the most watched cat behavior show in the world, My Cat From Hell, (international version for Discovery Channel), with over 125 million viewers internationally. She has guest starred as The Cat Whisperer on The Today Show, National Geographic, NBC, Dateline, MTV, Animal Planet. Hallmark Channel, Nat Geo Wild - The Wild Side of Cats television documentary, and the cat expert for Howie Mandel's Nat Geo Wild's, Animal's Doing Things. As a cat expert on the 37 species of wildcats (including the domestic house cat) she has edited, written, and developed television documentaries and books for National Geographic. She was the International Cat Behavior Expert for Whiskas traveling the globe from Australia to the Philippines with the mission to elevate the status of the cat along with the Animal Welfare League and TICA. She has lectured internationally at SPCA veterinary behavior conferences on common behavior issues and a cat welfarist and guest speaker as The Cat Whisperer nationally for Best Friends Animal Society and Stray Cat Alliance in L.A. and many other cat shelters. She has also been the spokesperson and cat behaviorist for Arm & Hammer Cat Litter nationally and internationally heading their media tours. Nationally and internationally, Mieshelle is a frequent contributor and guest on T.V., radio, and publications, including LIFE Magazine, Animal Planet, The Today Show, National Geographic, NBC Dateline, Modern Cat magazine, Fox, USA Today, Parade, Reader's Digest, Boston Globe, the New York Times, MTV, The Dodo, The Circle, Lifehacker, Catster, The Sunrise Show, Martha Stewart Living Radio, Zoo Peeps, This Wildlife, New York Post, Cat Fancy Magazine, Salon.com, New Republic, Feline Wellness, Petside.com, Cat Channel, Real Simple, The Daily Cat, Pets Magazine, and many others. In addition to her important platforms like anti-declawing and elevating the status of the black cat, Mieshelle believes that saving millions of cats from euthanasia each year begins with cat owners understanding and respecting the natural instincts of their domestic cat and sound behavior advice in solving behavior issues. Recently she has taken her expertise world-wide in over 30 countries (including China) to help cat owners think more scientifically about their cat's behavior to help end needless euthanasia, abuse, and discarding of cats. Mieshelle opened the doors to The Cat Behavior Clinic, LLC, in 1999 and several years before created the very first cat behavior consulting website in the United States, Helpyourcat.com. She has trained several licensed veterinarians as part of her cat behavior team. Visit the clinic website at: http://www.thecatbehaviorclinic.com/ to schedule a cat behavior Zoom appointment.
