Mihai Iuliu Spariosu was a Distinguished Research Professor and former Head of the Department of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies at the University of Georgia. He is known for his contributions to the philosophy of play, the Quantum Relations Principle, education, intercultural studies, science and technology. Brian Sutton-Smith named him one of “the three truly great twentieth-century play theorists” alongside J. Huizinga and R. Fagen. Mihai Spariosu passed away in August of 2021, he was well known in his field and associated with many widely read scholars such as Wolfgang Iser, Lilian Furst, Nassim Taleb and other notable figures.
