Mira Gonzalez

Since childhood, Mira Gonzalez (she/her) harbored a passion for escapist fiction and dreamed up her own soaring storyscapes. Turning daydreams to paper took time while pursuing her chemical engineering studies and raising three kids across the western United States. Though an avid reader, penning a fantastical novel waited until now following adventures in the Arctic oil fields and navigating early motherhood’s harrowing terrain. When she isn’t reading her favorite childhood stories to her small humans, she’s building imaginary doorways into alternate realities from her Colorado home. THE DARKNESS BEHIND THE DOOR draws on Mira’s longing for magic portals out of everyday shadowed spaces. Her love of lush emotional landscapes, resilient flawed characters, and diverse inclusive worlds guide upcoming projects in the works. But for now thoughts linger on who else might feel less alone having walked with Theo and Archer toward the light waiting when the last lock clicks open.
