Ms Mireille van Yperen

Mireille van Yperen (1972) born in Bleiswijk (The Netherlands) has always had a creative mind. Getting her mum angry while doodling in church, writing creative stories where magical things happen, while being in class at school. Even though she was born in a small town village, she created her own exciting world in her stories and illustrations. After having her own company for more than 20 years, working as a graphic designer and web designer for other authors and other companies, she finally started in 2015 on a more serious level with writing and illustrating her own picturebooks. And what an amazing journey that was. Little stories popped up in her head at the weirdest moments. Most stories are about unexpected friendships between two characters that, in real life, shouldn't be friends. The books are funny, interesting, and exciting to read for the little ones. The illustrations are amazing, cute, and funny. Mireille, being a 100% single mother with a child diagnosed with ADHD and a child diagnosed with Autism, had a lot of challenges to face. That's how she came up with the stories in the books, to help her kids while dealing with Autism and ADHD. Stories are about being different and finding that one friend who is also different.
