Miriam Van Scott's books include Encyclopedia of Hell and Encyclopedia of Heaven (Macmillan,) Song of Old: An Advent Calendar for the Spirit, and the Shakespeare Goes Pop! series. She has also done projects for The History Channel, ABC World News, The Learning Channel, Good Housekeeping Magazine, Gannett, ABC's 20/20, Paramount Entertainment Group, Media General Cable, SyFy and others. Van Scott's debut novel - BANDUN GATE - is a fact-inspired horror story about the vengeful spirit of an executed murderess determined to steal a new body to 'wear,' opposed by an alliance featuring an exorcist, a former cult member, a Gullah root worker and other paranormal aficionados. The book was inspired by true events, including a kidnapping, Van Scott's discovery of a haunted site, and reports of a local woman considered so evil no cemetery would accept her body for burial. Her children's book Boomer's Criss-Cross Christmas features vibrant illustrations and fascinating information on Christmas traditions from cultures around the globe, as a white kangaroo leads a world-wide search for the spirit of the holiday. The project was featured as a women in business "Success Story" on CNBC's The Suze Orman Show.
