Trained in Eastern and Western meditative and conflict resolution strategies, Mohan Nair MD trained at the University of California and Harvard University. Dr. Nair’s training included the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital. McLean Hospital, a member of Mass General Brigham and the largest psychiatric affiliate of Harvard Medical School, is America’s #1 hospital for psychiatric care, according to the U.S. News & World Report Annual “Best Hospitals” survey results released in 2022. Dr. Nair trained in infant psychiatry and Neurodevelopmental Disorders/Autism at Boston Children’s Hospital, a leading center for autism research is the #1 pediatric hospital in the nation for the 9th year in a row according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2022-23 Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll. Dr. Mohan Nair was a past President of the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Nair has also held volunteer faculty appointments at UCLA, the University of Hawaii, the John A Burns School of Medicine, and Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona California. Dr. Nair is Board-Certified in the specialties of Behavioral Neurology, Brain Injury Medicine, Pain Medicine, Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry. He is certified (and re-certified) in Psychopharmacology by the American Society for Clinical Psychopharmacology. Dr. Mohan Nair has conducted research on PTSD in combat veterans and survivors of childhood trauma, borderline personality disorder, dissociative disorders, brain imaging, endocrine dysfunction in PTSD, lead exposure-related brain injury, cannabis-related psychoses, stalking, psychopathy and frontotemporal dementia. Dr. Nair’s current clinical and research interests focus on brain injury, PTSD, chronic pain conditions, the opioid crisis, and the role of ketamine and psychedelics as potential transdiagnostic therapeutic agents for mental and physical anguish.
