For decades, Michael Thomas Tower wrote for the stage with work produced from coast to coast. “But theater makes demands beyond what I can give it now,” he laments, “so I shifted to writing novels.” His most recent novel is “One Time a Stranger,” the story of a misunderstood teenager who must make a difficult personal decision for the sake of the little Texas town where he lives. His next novel is “The Things We Didn’t Intend,” the story of the perfect marriage that unravels. This will be released in the early spring of 2025. Michael’s first novel, “Children of the Valley,” published in 2016, is the story of a group led by young teens whose homeland became uninhabitable, and they journey to find a new home. This book is being revised and is slated for re-release in late 2025. Born and reared in Texas, Michael moved to California in his late teens. He has four children and “a batch of grandkids.” He currently lives in the rural mountains of eastern San Diego County with his husband and cat—both adored.
