N. Ferdinandt

N. Ferdinandt is originally from Minnesota, but is currently an associate professor in a large university in the southwestern United States. His interests in languages began with Russian, as he wanted to understand the Soviets during the Cold War. Ferdinandt has traveled the world in his accidental career as an ESL teacher and administrator, having lived and worked with students and colleagues from all over the world. Ferdinandt began his career as an EFL/ESL teacher in Brazil, so he is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese as well. Teaching English in several countries has given Ferdinandt a broad view of the world that has resulted in a variety of writing interests. Ferdinandt’s areas of expertise include intercultural competence, language program evaluation and accreditation, and Freirean approaches to intercultural leadership.
