Nancy Yuktonis Solak

Nancy Yuktonis Solak, a native of Chicago, is an award-winning author and editor. Formerly housebound (due to being of a highly nervous persuasion), she now travels reluctantly but joyfully. Her most recent travel memoir is, "Welcome to Here: A Reluctant Traveler Goes to China." Like "A Footpath in Umbria," it gives a behind-the-scenes account of what life is like for an American tourist traveling abroad. Nancy is a certified affiliate of the Amherst Writers & Artists method. She leads workshops for senior citizens and women in recovery. She's been a member of Detroit Working Writers since 1987.
