Naomi Slade

Naomi Slade is an author, gardening expert, award-winning designer and TV presenter. In 2022 she became Practical Journalist of the Year at the prestigious Garden Media Guild Awards, known as the 'gardening Oscars', and in 2024 she staged the acclaimed Flood Re, Flood Resilient Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show, in association with Dr Ed Barsley. A keen gardener with a particular interest in small gardens, naturalistic planting and the environment, Naomi is interested in landscape, orchard and meadow restoration and conservation and sympathetic garden design. She has written ten books to date, including bestselling 'Hydrangeas', and new release 'Chrysanthemums' both published by Pavilion in the UK and Gibbs-Smith in the US. She loves to travel, botanise and discover new things, particularly up mountains and by the coast. Writing about passionate, interesting people is always a pleasure, and she also enjoys covering science, botany and food. Naomi is often distracted by social history, old buildings and other things of beauty, and she is a bit of an archaeology geek.
