Nathan Grawe (PhD in Economics, University of Chicago) is the Lloyd P. Johnson-Norwest Professor of Economics and the Liberal Arts at Carleton College where he has taught since 1999. His work in labor economics explores family background and its influence on choices to acquire higher education. In Demographics and the Demand for Higher Education and The Agile College (both published by Johns Hopkins University Press in 2018 and 2021, respectively), Dr. Grawe explores the consequences of demographic decline on college enrollments and shares how campuses are attempting to adapt. In addition to his work at Carleton as an economist, from 2009 to 2012 Dr. Grawe served as Associate Dean of the College.
