Nathan Martinez

Nathan spent 7 years as an experimental archaeology instructor at an archaeological and foraging lifeways school in West Texas and has traveled from Alaska to the Amazon to test the foraging potential of a diverse number of bioregions. He served as a consultant and trainer for Discovery Channel's "I, Caveman" and "Man vs. Wild," and in 2019 was featured on "Naked and Afraid." After losing work due to the recession, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of personally living off the land and spent 8 years as a full-time subsistence hunter, trapper, forager and artisanal commercial fisherman. He currently spends as much time as possible wandering and exploring the deserts and mountains of the Western United States.
