Neil Packer is an award winning freelance Illustrator living and working in London for the past 35years. He has illustrated many books for the Folio Society including Catch 22 by Joseph Heller, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and The Name of The Rose and Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco. More recently he has illustrated several children books for Walker books including re-interpretations of both The Iliad and The Odyssey by Gillian Cross. In September 2020 Walker Studio published "One of a Kind" Neil Packer's first book as an Author and Illustrator, and in June 2021 it won the Bologna Ragazzi award for Non Fiction. In October 2018 Bloomsbury published the children's illustrated edition of Peter Frankopan's international best seller "The Silk Roads" illustrated by Neil Packer. Neil was born in Birmingham in 1961 and studied art at Colchester School of Art in the late 1970s. He has had work exhibited at the The Illustration Cupboard - London, Chris Beetles Gallery - London, The Royal Academy - London, The British Museum - London, The British Library - London and the V&A Museum - London. In 1977 he was awarded runner up prize at the Broomfield flower and produce show (Art competition).
