Nicole Megan Edwards Ph.D

Greetings! Thanks for stopping by my Author's Page! I earned my PhD in Special Education from University of Maryland at College Park and I am a tenured Associate Professor at Rowan University in New Jersey. I coordinate our online MA in Special Education, Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) Graduate Endorsement, and a new online Early Childhood Special Education (birth-5) Certificate of Graduate Study. I have worked with families of infants and toddlers at risk for and with diagnosed disabilities as a center-based and home-based Part C Early Intervention (EI) provider in New York City and I served as Associate Project Director of a statewide professional development initiative for EI providers and Service Coordinators in Georgia. I am also a proud mom to two wonderful boys! I am co-chair-elect of the American Educational Research Association's Family-School-Community Partnership SIG, serve on the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) Research Committee, and have been appointed by the governor to the NJ State Inter-agency Coordinating Council. My research primarily focuses on building capacity among providers and caregivers to embrace their contributing roles in using the Pyramid Model/Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, supporting early emotional development, and satisfying the federal Child Find mandate for earlier detection and referral to Part C Early Intervention.
