Nigelle de Visme remembers a world where tigers roamed. Born in 1946 and brought up in The Tropics gave her a view of life at a distinct slant to the world-at-large. Knowing she was unwanted at home, at the age of two and a half she and her woollen pony walked out beyond the garden gate to the world beyond. She was hauled back pretty swiftly - but ... at that moment her pilgrim soul was quickened. As she grew older, and her chubby little legs grew longer, she kept on walking. Now in her dotage she writes about the world and the people and the animals she has loved. She shares her journeys, inner and outer, with humour and humility - until she reached a certain age when she found herself an Uppity Woman with Opinions!
