Niran Al-Agba was born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. After completing medical school at the University of Washington and pediatric residency training at the University of Colorado/Denver Children's Hospital, she returned to her hometown to join her father in a pediatric private practice. She began writing a blog in 2015 on the preservation of the patient-physician relationship, patient empowerment, and the dangers of the corporatization of the healthcare system. Since 2017, she has written a regular opinion column in her hometown newspaper, the Kitsap Sun. Her work can be found on KevinMD.com, TheDeductible.com, and she has been published in Fortune, the Seattle Times, and USA Today.
