Noël Kingsbury

关于作者

The computer keyboard is always rather grubby as I flit between writing and gardening. I'm a UK-based, but widely-travelling, writer about plants, gardens and gardening, with occasional forays into food and farming issues. I also design planting schemes for gardens and public spaces. My books reflect that I have always been an innovator and pioneer. New ideas, new places, new people and new plants excite me. Conveying this excitement, and the techie stuff which makes it work is at the core of my writing and my lecturing. A bit part of my work as a writer and educator in the garden world is to try to explain all this in simple terms for the new gardener, the designer or horticulture professional. I was a pioneer in promoting grasses and seedheads for the late season look; in promoting naturalistic planting in the English-speaking world; in introducing and explaining the unique design work of my Dutch colleague Piet Oudolf and in promoting the idea of gardening as an art form worthy of serious intellectual attention. I love gardening but also writing. Writing is about sharing, communicating and enthusing. My blog: http://noels-garden.blogspot.com and on: www.gardeninggonewild.com include more of my work, as does my website: www.noelkingsbury.com
