Nora Dunn (aka The Professional Hobo) sold everything she owned in Toronto Canada in 2006 (including a busy financial planning practice) to embrace her dreams of long-term immersive world travel. She traveled full-time for over 12 years, traveling through and living in over 60 countries. Her full-time travel lifestyle allowed her to explore a variety of creative ways to travel in style for surprisingly little money. For example, she has received free accommodation in some glorious locales and saved over $100,000 in accommodation expenses around the world. She also maximizes her use of frequent flyer miles to fly long-haul in business class for less than the price of economy. So while you may think the "Hobo" life is a meagre one, she assures you, it doesn't have to be. Nora parlays her financial expertise and travel experience to share her personal adventures and travel lifestyle guides on her website TheProfessionalHobo.com, where she teaches people how to travel full-time in a financially sustainable way. Nora Dunn is an author, freelance writer, keynote speaker, and professional actor/singer/dancer. She has filmed two television shows in three countries. She apprenticed with a shaman in Peru and worked as a shaman's assistant in Ecuador. She lived on five sailboats spanning three Caribbean countries for three months straight (not a night on land). She has almost 300 skydives under her belt, she has scaled a few big mountains, and she used to take her motorcycle to the track. She did the world's highest bungee jump (in South Africa) - twice. And she's done every world's highest/deepest/longest/craziest adrenaline activity New Zealand has to offer. She's also seen some nasty stuff in all her years of full-time travel. She survived three natural disasters (one of which was Australia's worst ever to date - the Victorian Bushfires). She suffered three tropical diseases (apparently these things come in threes). She endured a near-fatal accident in the Caribbean. And she's survived a series of romances abroad that range from laughable to oh-my-god-seriously-did-that-just-happen. Along the way, Nora has had a variety of home bases for up to two years each that allowed her to delve deep into local culture and practices, namely in Australia, New Zealand, Grenada (Caribbean), Peru, and Ecuador. Her latest home base has been back in her home town of Toronto (a twilight zone experience if ever there was one), and she continues to travel for about half of each year.
