Oscar Ichazo (1931-2020) is the originator of Integral Philosophy, a new philosophical tradition, which includes the original and complete analysis with the enneagram theory of the Fixations. Since 1968, his work has included teachings about the reality of climate change due to overpopulation, pollution, the dangers of nuclear energy, and the misuse and mismanagement of natural resources producing this crisis. Ichazo connects the facts of this global crisis with the need to recognize human behavior from its lower levels of behavior to its higher levels of understanding and attainment. With this higher perspective, we can face the challenges of our world with a unified effort upon an ethical approach and benefit all life on the planet. In appreciation of Oscar, he was a recipient of the United Nations Society of Writers Award of Excellence (1991) “in appreciation of [his] role as philosopher, author and educator.”
