Mine was a Grimm story of a life without Christ. Like many in the crowd, I suffered in silence, and deep down I did not have a good reason to continue the act, but I was too afraid to end it. Without a shortage of voices in my ear, those claiming authority angered me, because they lived lives without victory. One day someone invaded my space, and got in my face… as he was going to explain the Bible to me, all I could say without resorting to violence was: “Don’t tell me show me!” In the next ten minutes he flipped through his bible and pointed out certain scriptures and the only thing he asked was two questions each time: “What does that say?” and “What does that mean?” Then in conclusion he asked, “What do you need to do?” And I replied in some fashion… “I need to give my life to Jesus Christ, ask Him into my life, and get baptized in His Name. Many of the scriptures he shared I cannot remember, but there is one that is branded in my mind all these years later: “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) “A bible book: sola scriptura,” is just like that; scripture only, on topics like salvation and the person of Christ; and how we can be transformed by His death, burial, and resurrection. One thing that was in my mind on that day was that I was going to find out the truth if Christ could and would change my life! I would find out once and for sure if God was true to His Word, and if it was His Word! I found that God not only transformed my life through Jesus Christ, but He has kept me by the power of His Word! “… the true Light, which lights every man that came into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:9-13) I believe there will be time enough for me to do some explaining on some subjects of the Holy Bible, but my priority is first to get its unrestricted power into the lives of people; hungry to hear from God. The first few months of reading the scriptures seemed fruitless, but I was faithful to continue reading and hearing from God; I soon found that I became rooted and founded on His Word, and not merely in commentary and opinion. I could now appreciate and discern the voices of advice all around me. “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.” (1 Peter 1:23) It took me years to glean cohesive scriptures that speak to everyday issues and topics, and I have compiled them in this easy-to-read format straight out of the King James Version of the Holy Bible. I hope you read and pass on this treasure to those who just need to hear from God in a personal way; so that their confidence will be grounded in Him and His Word. You can copy and distribute this book as much as you like. God bless your love and work, as we pray for God to send out laborers into His harvest! PL Grimm
