Patricia Cooney-Hathaway

Dr. Patricia Cooney Hathaway is Professor of Spirituality and Systematic Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan. She received her doctorate from Catholic University of America and a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Shalem Institute for Spiritual formation. Her book, Weaving Faith and Experience, A Woman’s Perspective received the Catholic Book Award, Gender Issues, 2010. Dr. Cooney has had articles published in America magazine, The Seminary Journal, Human Development Magazine and St. Anthony Messenger Press. She is Associate Editor of Human Development magazine, a publication of Guest House, a treatment and recovery center for clergy and religious. Her research interests include the relationship between human and spiritual development and the history and contemporary expression of Christian spirituality.
