Patrick Mason holds the Leonard J. Arrington Chair of Mormon History and Culture at Utah State University, where he is an associate professor of religious studies and history. He earned his BA in History from Brigham Young University and his PhD in U.S. History from the University of Notre Dame with an emphasis on American religious history. He is the author or editor of several books and is widely cited by local, national, and international media as an authority on Mormon history, culture, and theology. Mason lives with his wife Melissa and four children in Logan, Utah.
