Paula Saffire

Paula aims to make learning come alive. She developed a course on spiritual practices that involve the body, which she taught at Butler University for 19 years. Students who took the course report on moving experiences, insights, and life changes in Paula's new book, "Hands-On Spirituality." Paula was one of the first teachers to use conversational Ancient Greek in the classroom. This is incorporated in her textbook, “Ancient Greek Alive.” Paula’s autobiographical novel "Tender Miscarriage" is about a difficult pregnancy. It includes a visitation, a mystical experience in childbirth, and a warm-hearted, ill-starred year of teaching public school. The photo shows Paula on her seventieth birthday.
