Born and raised in Warsaw, Poland, and trained at University of Oxford, Pawel Maciejko is a Joseph H. and Belle Braun Senior Lecturer in the Humanities at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is the author of numerous publications in the field of Jewish Studies and he has held visiting positions at academic institutions worldwide, including the University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, and the École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris. His book The Mixed Multitude: Jacob Frank and the Frankist Movement 1755-1816 was awarded the Polonsky Prize for Creativity and Originality in Humanistic Disciplines and the Salo Baron Prize in Jewish History.
