Penny Swift is a well established writer with loads of writing and editing experience. She 'grew up' on daily and then Sunday newspapers where she worked in the newsroom and women's pages, spent time in many court rooms, and ultimately did a substantial amount of consumer and investigative journalism. The birth of her first child three decades ago lead her to move to magazines where she worked on South Africa's premier mother and child magazine, Living & Loving. As a new home owner she encompassed home-orientated magazines in her full-time job description, namely SA Garden & Home and Your Family. The next step was to try writing books, and she currently has more than 40 published titles under my belt. Most are home-related and DIY orientated, though she has also written two non-fiction horse-related titles. Penny cut her teeth on ebooks in 2009 and has produced a number of her own, as well as ghost writing and/or editing several for other 'authors'. Around the same time she was commissioned to write a number of Further Education & Training (FET) college textbooks for second language English students, mostly on construction and related topics; as well as a number of courses for leading long distances colleges based in Cape Town. While the bulk of the books written by Penny have a strong southern African focus, many have been published internationally. Since 2013 she has shifted her focus to the US market, launching two new titles in her How To Series, and planning several more for 2014. 2013 also marked the publication of her first children's book, Tales of a Toothmouse, which is also available through Amazon.
