Peter Sasgen is the author of thirteen books. His subjects range from naval history, particularly submarine warfare during World War II and the Cold War, to novels of international intrigue. His latest novel, ILLUMINATIONS, is set in the vicious and often unscrupulous international art world of Paris. Sasgen started writing shortly after the death of his father, who'd served in submarines in the Pacific during the war. With a lifelong interest in submarines, Sasgen realized that his father's experiences had the makings of a great adventure story. He wrote what became RED SCORPION, THE WAR PATROLS OF THE USS RASHER, his first book published in 1995. After RED SCORPION, ideas for new stories just kept coming. A novel set in post-war Berlin (THE DAYS OF KiILLING), a trilogy of the new Cold War (THE BLOOD OF LOST EMPIRES; THE MAN IN THE GLASS BOX; THE WHITE WOMAN), and eight more titles followed. The concept for ILLUMINATIONS derived from Sasgen's experience as an artist and photographer after graduation from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. His photographs are in the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Library of Congress, and in private collections in the U.S. and Europe. He and his wife live in St. Augustine, Florida.
