Phil Halton has worked in conflict zones around the world as an officer in the Canadian Army and as a security consultant. He holds a Masters Degree in Defence Studies from Royal Military College of Canada, and a Master of Arts in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of Gloucestershire. His debut novel, "This Shall Be a House of Peace" (2019) received a rare starred review from Book List. He has also written a second novel, "Every Arm Outstretched" (2020), a history, "Blood Washing Blood: Afghanistan's Hundred-Year War" (2021), and a graphic novel, "The Sandbox" (2023). His latest work is in the crime fiction genre, "Red Warning" (2024).
