Qusay Salih Hussein Al-Mamari MSSW

Qusay Hussein Al-Mamari is an education advocate, motivational speaker, and Ph.D. researcher dedicated to supporting marginalized communities and individuals with disabilities. A survivor of a 2006 suicide bombing, he endured over seventy reconstructive surgeries and went on to earn multiple scholarships. He holds a Master of Science in Social Work and Dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Social Work with a minor in Interdisciplinary Disability Studies. Now pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin, his research focuses on refugees with and without disabilities and inclusive policies in forced resettlement. Qusay serves on the Board of Directors for Doctors Without Borders and Interfaith Action of Texas. His story has been featured in global media, including the BBC’s The Outlook Podcast (2021).
