Ramakrishnan Mukundan

R. Mukundan is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He received his Ph.D degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India in 1996. He has been actively involved in research and development in the fields of image processing, machine vision and computer graphics since 1982. He currently leads the Computer Graphics and Medical Image Analysis (CGMIA) research group in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at University of Canterbury. Mukundan's areas of research include pattern and texture analysis, biomedical image processing, machine learning and real-time computer graphics algorithms. He has been teaching Computer Graphics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels for the past 25 years. He has authored 4 books and has published over 120 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings.
